Panama Teak Forestry will be having the annual meeting this year the second weekend of Feb. 2008. We meet the evening of Friday Feb. 8th. at 6pm. Meeting will be held in Edifico La Gaviota #16B which is located in Panama City on Ave Balboa accross from the Miramar Intercontinental Hotel, next to the building Condessa Mar.
On the morning of the 9th at 9:30am we will meet at La Gaviota drive to Santiago and visit the plantations in the Llano Grande area and look over the site for the small saw mill which will process teak thinning. We will be stopping along the way for lunch. Dinner will be in Santiago where we spend the night at the La Hacienda Hotel. Reservations will be made for everyone that indicate they are attending the meeting. On Feb. 10th we will go to plantations in the Sona area to see the land and planting work being done and to visit some of the existing plantations we have in that area. We may stop at Sona-one, the 6 year old plantation located very near the beach. swim in the ocean so remember to pack a swim suit for a possible swim in the ocean. The Sona one plantation will provide an oppertunity for a jungle walk through some of the native jungle that we have preserved within that plantation. We may also be looking at additional plantations that we would be acquiring this year. We will spend the night of the 10th in Santiago and plan to return to the city on Feb 11th. There are some people that will be heading off to Boquete and other destinations.
