By producing tropical hard wood in these areas we help reduce the pressure, driven by an increasing demand for exotic woods, to continue to cut virgin tropical forests.  While capturing a profit from this increasing demand for a shrinking resource we are also restoring the native vegetation to areas of our land that are environmentally sensitive or not suitable for planting with commercial wood products, thus increasing the bio diversity and protecting environmentally sensitive areas under our management.

As a socially compassionate company Panama Teak Forestry benefits people in many ways. People living at the lower income margins in rural areas that have traditionally had very few employment opportunities accomplish most of the work done on our plantation. By creating new income sources in these areas Panama Teak Forestry will be helping to improve the lives of working families. Our labor force works closely with the forestry engineers overseeing the project and are involved in the restoration of the areas that we are returning to a natural state. Everyone involved in this project will gain an education and awareness of ecologically sound practices. We will demonstrate new and more sustainable methods of agriculture. We share knowledge about the downfalls of the old slash and burn methods. Through the spreading of education throughout our work force we will change the ways things are done over a much larger area than just the lands under management.
